Keravan Kerala
When in Kerala, just imagine you and your loved ones are in a minivan with all the luxuries and comforts and travel all over Kerala. Such scenes could only be seen in Hollywood movies so far but now it’s for real, there’s a brand new way to do it. Kerala Tourism, as part of its Keravan Kerala initiative, has introduced luxury caravans and caravan parks for tourists to explore the unmatched beauty of God’s Own Country. In the coming days, tourists will be able to enjoy camps in luxurious caravans for vacationing around Kerala.
In India, caravan tourism has yet to catch up, but Kerala’s tourism business is making progress. Caravan parks are springing up all throughout Kerala as part of the Kerala government’s Keravan Kerala project. Kerala’s tourism and trade industries have also pledged their support for the caravan tourism policy. Caravan parks are springing up in attractive natural settings, with strong security and hygiene standards.
Caravan Tourism policy is unique for many reasons. For one, it facilitates travelers to embark on a once-in-a-lifetime experience involving the luxury of caravans, the idyllic setting of caravan parks, and Village Life Experience packages powered by the Kerala Responsible Tourism Mission. It aims at exploring the possibility of turning accessible but unexplored places in the state into alluring destinations for caravan travelers to park and stay. The initiative is designed to make tourism a sustainable activity that would bring benefits to local communities and also scale up opportunities for the industry.
Keravan Kerala offers big opportunities for investors to operate specially-built caravans for travel, leisure, and stay. It also envisages a key role for a host of stakeholders, including local self-government institutions, to set up eco-friendly Caravan Parks across the state to enable the visitors to spend a night or a day or station for an extended period to explore the destination of their choice. The demand for caravans may rise, and people may seek out quieter spots away from the crowds.
Families, couples, and even groups of friends may find caravan tourism appealing. Kerala is a popular tourist destination, and with this new experience, it could be a perfect method to resurrect tourism in the state now that the pandemic situation in the country and around the world has improved. The Kerala Tourism, BharatBenz, and Autobahn Trucking luxury caravans are attractive vehicles that can easily seat 2-4 persons. Air conditioning, a lounge with comfortable seating, an infotainment system, a fully-equipped kitchen with essential appliances, a big bedroom with a double bunk, and a lavatory with a shower are among the built-in conveniences. You can also choose a trailer with an awning and outdoor seats, which is ideal for fast pit stops and tea breaks.
While you are free to park your caravan wherever it is permitted, the Kerala government is developing specialized caravan parks, which will allow caravan travelers to park and remain overnight or longer. The parks in Kerala will be established in natural settings with easy access to major roadways. During the tourist season, the parks will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and will also be available on demand. The parks will be designed to be entirely safe and secure places to stop and rest on your road journey.
The caravans can be booked through local accredited tour operators throughout the state. The objective is to permit online bookings over time, and the Kerala Tourism website will soon contain a list of all tour operators who offer the service. The private tour operators will determine the price. In the caravans, children and pets are welcome, so you may go on a family road trip without having to leave anyone behind. If you require it, you can also request specialized features such as medical care. You would be able to drive your caravan over the entire state of Kerala. Explore Munnar’s beautiful tea estates, Alappuzha’s palm-lined beaches, Trissur’s temples, and Wayanad’s cool weather and spices. Caravan travel to the less-explored and otherwise inaccessible areas of the state is also planned. If you want to drive the caravans outside of Kerala, it’s possible that you will be able to do so in the future. Kerala’s Department of Tourism will shortly begin discussions with tourism departments into neighboring states to ensure that caravan travel over state borders is as easy as possible.
